3×3 basketball, an Olympic discipline since 2021, is surging in Quebec this year. Montréal is hosting three major stops of the brand-new Basketball Québec 3×3 Circuit, launched in 2025 by the Fédération de basketball du Québec.
The events take place between June 7 and June 28, 2025, in iconic Montréal venues:
- June 7 – Parc Verdun
- June 14 – Saint-Exupéry Sports Center (Saint-Léonard)
- June 28 – McGill University
🏆 Gateway to National Finals
These regional stages serve as qualifiers for the Quebec 3×3 Provincial Finals, scheduled for July. The winners will go on to compete in the Canada National 3×3 Finals.
The circuit features U15, U18, and Senior categories, with a focus on inclusivity, gender diversity, and community roots. Many teams come from underrepresented neighborhoods and include mixed rosters.
🎧 100% Street Culture Vibe
More than a tournament, each event becomes a mini urban festival with:
- Live DJ performances
- Street art and dance showcases
- Youth activations
- Pop-up booths from local brands
“3×3 is fast, intense, and accessible. It reflects youth culture—what you see in parks, alleys, and neighborhoods.”
— Rachid Zouaoui, community coach
📈 Launchpad for Local Talent
The mission of the circuit is to spot and develop emerging Quebec players. With its speed and fluidity, 3×3 is ideal for identifying creative, agile, and instinctive athletes.
The project is also backed by Basketball Canada, which aims to connect Quebec talent to national 3×3 teams.
